Welcome to OpenCad're!
First of all, welcome to OpenCad're. In this site I plan to list some of the best resources for engineers that I've find on the web after thousands of hours searching the web.
In the Universities most of us
learn to use fantastic sofware like AutoCad®, Catia®, Matlab® etc, that are not only necessary if not essential
for the daily work of an engineer.
The creators of these pieces of software usually have student versions very cheap or even free, but often with limited functionality and of course not for commercial use. In other cases this is not like this and they just provide demos that are not very useful.
Sadly very often people decide to use pirated versions of this software while they are in the universities, and even worst they use this illegal software in their works to make profit.
I've been always concerned about this and I've been finding some alternatives to software for engineers that I could use when I were working for my own. In this site I review some of the best sofware for Cad, 3D engineering design, maths, etc., that is available on the internet either as OpenSource or freeware, or limited free version.
Technical Resources
Also on the net there are very valuable technical information with great value for engineers and over all for engineering students, from articles, solved physics problems, electronic versions of valuable books, to online courses from universities of such reputation as MIT!
So, if you are an enterprising mind and you are willing to discover all the technical information that internet has for you, you have come to the right place.
I hope you enjoy the site!
